• John Fulton - Keeper. This is a picture Darlene took early one morning several years ago but it is the only close up shot I have that is a good picture. Actually the shirt I'm wearing is a robe but I'll bet if I hadn't told you my secret would have been safe.
• Darlene and John in Rockport harbor. We were walking through the town and stopped at the kyak rental store. Just behind us is a 20-30 foot drop to the sea and there are lots of kyaks sitting in the water. You can see the hill in the distance where we walked to earlier in the day and Darlene took a picture looking back towards the harbor.
• This was a sample business card that seemed to suit our style. I had 250 printed for a nominal shipping fee and we have been giving them out to everyone.
• Doc and the boat captain at the Rockport Harbor after our return from Thacher Island.
The red fishing shack in the background is one of the most painted buildings in the area. It was originally used to store fishing gear and now represents the town's love for the fishing community. It was so loved that when a snow storm on February 6,1978, destroyed the building the town rebuilt it. Many of the local artists have painted this building known as "Motif Number One" and the building has forever become a symbol of the towns link to fishing and the sea.
In 1933, an exact scale replica of Motif Number One was loaded on a truck chassis and driven to Chicago and enter in the American Legion Convention parade. It was so well done that it beat out 199 other floats from around the country and won first place!
• This is one of my favorite pictures of the harbor. Again, Darlene took this on our early morning walk on our first trip as we awaited the arrival of the boat to the island. I particularly like the the plants in the foreground and the ships in the background.
• Rockport, Massachusetts harbor. Darlene and I got to Rockport early Saturday morning and ate breakfast at a local restaurant and then took a walk. As we walked past houses lining the street we eventually followed a trail over a rise and came to the sea. Darlene looked back towards the harbor and took this picture. It shows the various boats at anchor and the rocky coastline. Quite a nice picture.
• Thacher Island Twin lighthouses off in the distance. If you look close you can just make out the twin towers on the island. Some books say that the island is less than a mile form this point but it sure looks a might bit far for a swim.
• John at the beach just south of Rockport harbor. As we drove around to the right or south from Rockport we discovered this nice beach area with several sun bathers.

• Doc Widmore, Dottie, and George on the Saturday boat to the island.
• Kyaks and departing visitors.
• Water supply cistern for the keepers quarters. Concrete pond collects rain water for the house.

• Close up of the north tower.
• Two adults and a juvenile. Just a few of the residents that live year round on the island.
